Rishesh KC has been with The Harlem Children Society since early 2006. Harlem Children Society now on its seventh year saw its biggest growth when the number of student grew from 100 students in 2005 to over 180 students in 2006. HCS also went international expanding its reach to Canada. This has been an immense new experience for him and feels he is very proud to be a part of this major leap by HCS.

Rishesh graduated from LaGuardia Community college with an Associate Degree in International Studies in the spring of 2006 and started as a part-time intern in May of 2006. He is now a full-time staff Intern for HCS. He is also a member of Sigma Xi scientific research society.

Rishesh was also associated with non-profit organization in Nepal when he was a High School student. He also was the Executive Adviser for the Social Service Club of Malpi which organized various non-profit nationwide programs. He was one of the main forces in the organization to facilitate Free Health Camps for the underprivileged, Blood Donation programs and Special Olympics for the Disabled children and much more.

Rishesh has also been awarded the Pancha Kumari Prathiva Padak for securing the highest score in the School Leaving Certificate Examination from Ward-34, Kathmandu, Nepal in 2000. He is also a musician and has been playing guitar for the last 10 years. He also performed in the National program organized to mark the World Music Day along with hundreds of other musician which was broadcasted live through the National Radio Station all over Nepal.

As the HCS motto states, “The Purpose of the Soul is to Assist each other.”, Rishesh has vowed to do everything he can to contribute to HCS in its mission to promote an innovative science education program for children and youths living in under-resourced and under-served communities and school districts in different parts of the world.
