Charmagne Coston

Charmagne began working with Harlem Children Society in early 2007. She holds a strong passion for change and a deep commitment to the HCS mission statement. "[HCS] seeks to emphasize [the student's] pursuit of higher education and career achievement by providing them with knowledge, skills, guidance, encouragement and understanding." Charmagne believes strongly in the power of science education to uplift youth living in under-resourced communities.

Charmagne graduated from St. John's University with a B.A. in Government and Politics, Philosophy in the spring of 2006. While at St. John's she was deeply involved in Campus Ministry. She participated in a range of service activities including Midnight Runs to feed the homeless throughout New York City.

Charmagne has been involved with a variety of non-profit organizations, including the Red Cross and Lighthouse International for the visually impaired. Through her experience with various organizations, she has learned the importance of the responsibility that we as human have toward each other. As the HCS motto states, "The purpose of souls to assist each other", Charmagne is very enthusiastic and honored to be apart of HCS and to experience its growth and success in the future.
