About:

My name is Diadji Wague. I am 15 years old and I currently attend High School for Medical Science. I have enjoyed being in the Harlem Children Society. I have learned many things at my internship, which was at NYU School of Medicine. During my stay there we dealt with the social sciences and problems within our societies. My partner Shaquia Jackson and I chose the topic secondhand smoke. We chose this topic because it affects our society in many ways and though people are aware of they ignore it. What we did was go out and hand out surveys to adults between the ages of 18 and 50 years old. And from the information we received we made graphs and wrote our reports.

I am very happy to have been chosen to be in the Harlem Children Society it has given me the opportunity to go out and explore within the sciences. It has opened my eyes to many things. I also learned a lot from the presentations by my fellow peers, things that I never knew of before. I really thank Dr. Sat for creating this program because it gives us kids many opportunities to be exposed to the many things dealt in the sciences. I hope to continue my research and to research other things.
